Privacy Policy

Last updated March 26, 2026

This privacy policy describes what data What Game You Bringing? (“the app”) collects, why, and how you can control it. The app is made by Ben Powers (“I”, “me”) in Berkeley, California.

What the app collects

Feature-usage analytics (Mixpanel)

The app uses Mixpanel to record which features are used — for example, that someone opened the filter sheet or subscribed. This helps me decide what to build next.

What Mixpanel receives:

Mixpanel does not receive:

I’ve configured Mixpanel so that it does not store your IP address.

Mixpanel’s own privacy policy is at mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy. Mixpanel does not share your data with further parties.

You can opt out at any time by turning off “Send Usage Data” in Settings. When opted out, no data is sent to Mixpanel.

BoardGameGeek usernames

You may enter BGG usernames to browse collections. These usernames are:

BGG usernames are public information on boardgamegeek.com. The app does not verify whether a username belongs to you. The server has no way to correlate a username with a device or person. Usernames are never shared with third parties besides BoardGameGeek, where they are used to fetch your collection.

Lists and saved games

Games you save to lists are stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud (if iCloud is enabled on your device). This data never leaves your device and Apple’s iCloud infrastructure.

The app’s server is hosted in the United States. Mixpanel processes data in the United States. If you use the app from outside the US, your anonymous analytics data may be transferred to the US.
