What Game You Bringing? is an iOS app for browsing board games. It helps you filter by player count, age, and complexity to find the right game for the table.
All game data comes from BoardGameGeek, the definitive board game database. BGG’s community of millions votes on polls for every game — best player counts, recommended ages, complexity ratings. This app puts those polls to work as filters.
Player count. A game that says 2–7 on the box might only be good at 3–5. BGG’s community votes on which player counts are “recommended” and “best” for every game. Filter by those votes across your collection, or your friends’ collections.
Age. Publishers print a minimum age on the box. BGG’s community votes on what age they actually recommend. Filter by either.
Complexity. BGG rates every game on a 1–5 complexity scale, voted on by the community. This app maps that scale to ski-run symbols — green circle through triple black diamond — with familiar games at each level. You know what a 2.5 feels like if you’ve played Wingspan.
Collections
Browse the full catalog of board games for free. If you have a BoardGameGeek account, add your username to browse and filter your own collection. Add friends’ usernames to browse theirs. Create lists.
Collection and list features require a subscription after a 60-day trial. $2/month. You can export your data at any time.
Privacy
WGYB has no user accounts. If you have a public BGG collection, you can use that, but it works quite well without one. Data is stored on your device. Analytics are optional and do not record your IP address. Full privacy policy.
